The anticipation surrounding the fourth Baaghi film was minimal, yet the movie surpassed expectations. Baaghi 4 delivers a thrilling, almost primal, experience. The film begins with a high-impact car crash and maintains the intensity as Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) searches for his supposed lost love. The plot’s outlandish nature is offset by director A. Harsha’s skillful integration of action into a pulpy, engaging format. The level of violence is less than anticipated, and the narrative delves into the emotional turmoil of the hero, Ronnie, who is awakened after a coma. His sole focus is to find Alisha, played by Harnaaz Sandhu, who handles a double role with assurance. The climax, featuring Sanjay Dutt and Tiger Shroff, is a highlight. Here, Shroff underscores his position as the next generation action hero. Shroff’s characterization of Ronnie as a desperate lover is compelling. Though this is an action-focused film, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu’s character is integral. Even though Sonam Bajwa is underused, it isn’t a gender issue; even Shreyas Talpade seems somewhat lost. The central tension is in the Shroff-Dutt dynamic, which is rigorously explored. Baaghi 4 is a remake of the Tamil film Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu, but is superior in its writing and performances.
