Robo Shankar, a beloved actor and comedian in the Tamil film industry, has died at the age of 46 in Chennai. He received medical care at GEM Hospital. The hospital reported that Shankar was admitted on September 16, 2025, with a serious abdominal condition leading to multi-organ failure. Despite intensive care, his health deteriorated, and he died on September 18. The news of his passing prompted an outpouring of grief from the film community, including heartfelt tributes from Kamal Haasan, who expressed deep sorrow. Radikaa Sarathkumar also shared her condolences, highlighting Shankar’s dedication to his craft. Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister MK Stalin also conveyed his condolences, acknowledging Shankar’s contributions to entertainment across various platforms. Shankar’s work included roles alongside Dhanush and Thalapathy Vijay, as well as appearances in popular television shows. He was recognized for his comedic talent and ability to connect with audiences, notably in the film ‘Maari’ with Dhanush.
