The much-anticipated wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and singer Palash Muchhal has taken a distressing turn. The wedding festivities were abruptly halted due to a sudden and serious illness affecting Smriti’s father. This health crisis triggered a wave of online speculation and baseless rumors, including accusations against Palash Muchhal.
Palash himself was later hospitalized in Mumbai, reportedly due to extreme exhaustion. The atmosphere grew tense as Smriti and her family began to remove all wedding-related posts from their social media platforms. In a recent statement, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, appealed for empathy and understanding. She emphasized Palash’s current critical condition and implored the public not to form judgments based on unverified information, urging, “Pray for him.”
Earlier, Palak Muchhal, Palash’s sister, had confirmed the wedding’s postponement, citing Smriti’s father’s health as the reason and requesting respect for the families’ privacy during this sensitive period. The union was reportedly scheduled for November 23rd, with pre-wedding events like haldi and sangeet previously garnering significant online attention. The couple had even received a congratulatory message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
