Amidst threats from a Khalistani terror group, popular Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed the situation with a message of unity and love at his Brisbane concert. Instead of direct confrontation, Dosanjh opted for a heartfelt address, emphasizing his commitment to spreading positivity. He spoke about overcoming negativity with love, stating that he would continue to promote harmony regardless of external pressures.
This comes after concerns were raised about Dosanjh’s performance on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, where he touched Amitabh Bachchan’s feet. A Khalistani terror group has threatened to disrupt his upcoming Melbourne show on November 1st, accusing Dosanjh of disrespecting victims of the 1984 Sikh Genocide. They pointed to Bachchan’s alleged involvement in inciting violence during that period. Dosanjh, consistently choosing a path of peace, shared his thoughts in Punjabi on stage: “I will always keep talking about love. For me, this Earth is one. My Guru says, ‘Ik Onkar.’ I was born from this earth, I got my life from this land and one day I will return to this soil. So, there is only love from my side for everyone, even if someone gets jealous of me or trolls me. I will always spread the message of love. I have always done so. I don’t care how anyone feels about it. Punjabi aa gaye oye.” His Australian tour continues with scheduled dates in Adelaide and Perth.
