Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are entangled in a new legal battle. A case has been filed against them alleging a ₹60 crore fraud. The complaint, lodged at the Juhu Police Station in Mumbai, also names an unidentified individual. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is investigating the matter, which pertains to a financial transaction and investment related to the now-closed Best Deal TV Private Limited.
Businessman Deepak Kothari has claimed that he provided ₹60.48 crore for business expansion between 2015 and 2023. However, the funds were allegedly used for personal expenses. Kothari states that he was introduced to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra in 2015 through an agent, Rajesh Arya, who was seeking to raise capital for Best Deal TV, where Shetty held a majority stake.
