Sanjay Dutt, the renowned Bollywood actor, once shared a close relationship with underworld figures, including Abu Salem. This association led to legal troubles for the actor, including a conviction for possessing illegal weapons in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bombings, which were provided by Abu Salem. Furthermore, Sanjay Dutt had a meeting with Dawood Ibrahim, another prominent underworld figure, and attended a party at his residence. This account was shared by Sanjay Dutt in a candid interview.
After his name surfaced in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case, authorities, including the police and investigative agencies, questioned Sanjay Dutt. He recounted his encounter with Dawood during these interrogations. The meeting took place while Dutt was working on the film ‘Yalgaar’, and it was arranged by actor and director Firoz Khan.
Sanjay revealed that he had committed to Firoz Khan for the film ‘Yalgaar’ in December 1991. Firoz Khan directed the film, which was partly shot in Dubai. During this time, Firoz Khan introduced Sanjay Dutt to Dawood Ibrahim. Sanjay stated, “Firoz Khan introduced me to Dawood Ibrahim during the shooting.”
Sanjay also described attending a dinner party at Dawood’s house. He mentioned that he was introduced to Dawood’s brother, Anees, by Firoz during the filming. Anees subsequently became a regular visitor to the ‘Yalgaar’ set. Sanjay recalled, “One day, Dawood invited our entire unit to his home for dinner during the shooting. I attended the party like the other unit members.”
At the party, Sanjay Dutt interacted with numerous individuals linked to the underworld, including Iqbal Mirchi, Sharad Shetty, and Chota Rajan. In addition to the ‘Yalgaar’ crew, many Pakistani artists were also present at the gathering.
