S.S. Rajamouli’s next directorial venture, SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, is generating significant buzz. The film, with an estimated budget of 900-1000 crore rupees, is planned to be revealed in November 2025. The film’s makers have also established a connection with Hollywood, adding an extra layer of anticipation.
Rumors suggest that James Cameron, the director of Titanic, may announce the title of SSMB29 during the promotion of Avatar 3: Fire and Ash in India. However, there has been no official word from the production team regarding this. SSMB29 is envisioned as a global jungle adventure film, featuring Mahesh Babu in the role of a daring explorer, drawing inspiration from Indiana Jones and African mythology.
Initially planned as a two-part series, the filmmakers have reportedly decided to release SSMB29 as a single film, with a projected release date of 2027. The film’s title is rumored to be “Globetrotter”, and shooting is scheduled to begin in South Africa in September 2025. Some scenes have already been filmed with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Hyderabad.
The project’s announcement is timed with Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday celebration, with a promise of a never-before-seen reveal this November.
