The on-screen chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra has been a hit with audiences. Both stars are now occupied with their individual major projects. While Shah Rukh Khan is also involved with his children’s careers, Priyanka Chopra is preparing for her return to Indian cinema, currently filming for Rajamouli’s SSMB29. A new development is the actress’s involvement in a project that has roots in a previously abandoned film featuring Shah Rukh Khan.
A news report reveals that Priyanka is starting a project under her production banner, Purple Pebble Pictures. This Indian-Swedish project will see her as an executive producer for a documentary titled ‘The Cycle of Love.’ The connection to Shah Rukh Khan stems from the long-delayed Bollywood film, ‘Izhaar.’
Sanjay Leela Bhansali had plans to create a feature film based on ‘Izhaar’ in 2013, with Shah Rukh Khan cast as PK Mahanandia. The story followed an Indian artist who, armed with paintbrushes and a bicycle, travels across Asia and Europe in search of his beloved.
Bhansali previously collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on ‘Devdas,’ and another film was planned in partnership with Warner Bros. However, it was later abandoned without explanation.
In 2019, rumors circulated that Bhansali would shelve ‘Inshallah’ to focus on ‘Izhaar,’ but these rumors turned out to be untrue.
‘The Cycle of Love’ is a documentary detailing the love story of Delhi street artist PK Mahanandia, who cycled 6,000 miles in 1977 to reunite with his love. The documentary is being directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, the director of the Oscar-winning documentary ‘The White Helmets’.
