Prabhas, a leading South superstar, currently has an array of film projects in progress. Numerous major producers and directors are eager to work alongside him. Although he has faced a recent setback, his career continues to flourish, largely because of the success of ‘Baahubali.’ The film elevated him to a pan-India star. Even a short cameo by him now carries significant importance.
However, the story of an actress who rejected a significant film offered to her, even after Prabhas pursued her for six months, is lesser known.
Last year, Prabhas’s major film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ grossed over 1000 crore worldwide. Following that, he made a brief cameo appearance and is currently occupied with various film shoots. His upcoming film, ‘The Raja Saab,’ is scheduled for release next year. Many actresses are interested in collaborating with him. However, one actress notably declined a film despite the success of ‘Baahubali.’
This happened in 2019, when Prabhas collaborated with Shraddha Kapoor in an action thriller. The film featured several Bollywood actors, including Chunky Panday, Jackie Shroff, Vijay, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Mandira Bedi. Although the film garnered mixed reactions, it was a commercial success, earning 149 crore. Reports indicated that Katrina Kaif was the original choice for ‘Saaho,’ and the makers spent six months trying to get her on board. Despite Prabhas waiting, she ultimately declined the role.
Katrina Kaif received an offer for ‘Saaho’ even before ‘Baahubali 2’ but declined. The makers then decided against pursuing her further. Katrina has not publicly addressed these rumors. An alternative report claims she was keen on starring in Prabhas’s film but opted to support Salman Khan instead.
It is believed that at the time, Salman Khan was working on ‘Bharat.’ After Priyanka Chopra’s departure, Salman’s film encountered challenges. To support him, she reportedly turned down Prabhas. The actress has not discussed this publicly.
