The show ‘Rise and Fall’ on Amazon MX Player has become a trending topic. Featuring Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh as a contestant, the show generates daily news updates. In a recent episode, Pawan Singh opened up about his past struggles, remembering a time when air travel and AC train compartments were aspirations. The discussion took an emotional turn, with Pawan Singh and other contestants visibly touched by the reflections.
When asked by a fellow contestant about his life before stardom, Pawan Singh shared, “Time changes; there was a period when we slept on our roof with family. Whenever a plane passed, we would talk with our siblings about how people managed to fit inside.”
He elaborated, “We traveled in general train compartments, and whenever the train stopped, we’d rush to peer into the AC coaches, curious about those inside. Now, such experiences are commonplace; I primarily travel by flight. But we will never forget that period.”
Pawan Singh, who hails from Jokhari village in Bihar, is 39 years old and has dedicated nearly two decades to Bhojpuri cinema. His passion for singing emerged early, often performing with his uncle. He credits his uncle for his musical education in the 1990s. By the year 2000, he began releasing albums.
His breakthrough came in 2008 with the song ‘Lollypop Lagelu,’ which propelled him to overnight stardom. That same year, his film ‘Pratigya,’ co-starring Dinesh Lal, was released. The film and its songs were huge successes, cementing Pawan Singh’s position in the industry. Today, Pawan Singh is a leading Bhojpuri singer and actor, with a growing presence in Bollywood.
