September 2025 marks a busy month for K-drama releases, with Netflix and other streaming platforms unveiling a variety of new series. The offerings range from suspenseful thrillers to lighthearted crime dramas and emotional character studies. Several series will also reach their conclusions during this month.
“Queen Mantis,” a dark thriller inspired by the French series La Mante, follows a detective who must collaborate with his incarcerated mother, a serial killer, to solve a series of new murders that mimic her past crimes. The cast includes Go Hyun-jung, Jang Dong-yoon, Cho Seong-ha, and Lee El, and the series is slated to premiere on Netflix and Viki on September 5.
“Confidence Queen” is a crime drama centered on Yi-rang, a con artist who leads a team of tricksters. Their cunning schemes target greedy individuals, promising a blend of excitement and humor. The series stars Park Min-young, Park Hee-soon, and Joo Jong-hyuk and will be available on Amazon Prime starting September 6.
“Tempest” is a thriller where diplomat Seo Mun-ju and special agent Baek San-ho must uncover a conspiracy following a shooting during a peace mass. This series is set to air on Disney+ on September 10, with a cast including Jun Ji-hyun, Gang Dong-won, John Cho, Lee Mi-sook, and Park Hae-joon.
“You and Everything Else” delves into the themes of love and loss, with Kim Go-eun and Park Ji-hyun portraying friends who reconnect as one faces the end of her life. This emotional drama will be available on Netflix from September 12.
“Mantis,” a new action film and a sequel to Kill Boksoon, features Yim Si Wan as an assassin navigating a chaotic underworld. It co-stars Park Gyu Young and Jo Woo Jin and is set to premiere on Netflix on September 26.
Wrapping up in September are “Beyond the Bar,” a courtroom drama, and “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty,” a fantasy romance set in the Joseon era.
