Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, a prequel to the popular ‘Kantara’ (2022), has been released to enthusiastic reception. The film’s opening has been well-received, making it a notable contender among this week’s releases. The movie’s second-day box office collection, as reported by Sacnilk, reached Rs 43.65 crore, pushing its total earnings past the Rs 100 crore mark. The film’s total collection now amounts to Rs 105.5 crore. Rishab Shetty plays the role of Berme, alongside Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film benefits from Arvind S. Kashyap’s cinematography and B. Ajaneesh Loknath’s music. The production is by Vijay Kiragandur, under the Hombale Films banner. The original ‘Kantara,’ directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, also featured Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. That film focused on a Kambala champion dealing with themes of land, legacy, and the conflict between nature and law, eventually becoming the highest-grossing Kannada film and earning Rishab Shetty a National Film Award.
