A new epic war drama, ‘The Battle of Shatrughat,’ made its grand entrance at IFFI Goa 2025 with the unveiling of its captivating poster. The film is poised to become a major cinematic event, promising a compelling narrative woven with themes of honour, destiny, and epic warfare. The movie boasts a stellar cast including Gurmeet Choudhary, Aarushi Nishank, Sidharth Nigam, Mahesh Manjrekar, Raza Murad, and Zarina Wahab, all contributing to the film’s anticipated spectacle.
Leading the visual narrative is Aarushi Nishank, stepping into the role of a warrior-princess for her debut. Her appearance on the poster is striking: adorned in detailed traditional wear and exquisite jewellery, she holds a large sword with poise, projecting an image of strength and regality that is pivotal to the film’s storyline.
Gurmeet Choudhary is depicted as a veteran warrior in full armour, embodying the grit of combat. Meanwhile, Sidharth Nigam’s character sports a wilder, more untamed appearance with long hair and a fur ensemble, enhancing the film’s intense and mythic aesthetic. These visual elements underscore the importance of Aarushi’s character within the unfolding plot.
Under the direction of Shahid Kazmi and with writing by Sajad Khaki, ‘The Battle of Shatrughat’ is set to impress with its rich visuals and engaging storytelling. Costume design by Darshan Kamwal further adds to the film’s authenticity and grandeur. Gurmeet Choudhary described the project as a significant departure for him, calling it a ‘labour of love’ and an ‘entirely new space’ that combines romance, war, and historical drama.
