Speculation about Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s relationship has been ongoing. Despite the denial of divorce rumors, their marital status continues to be a topic of interest. Prior to his marriage to Sunita, Govinda was involved with actress Neelam Kothari. In a candid revelation from a 1990 interview, Govinda acknowledged his deep feelings for Neelam, describing her as a woman one could easily fall in love with and admitting he had lost his heart to her.
At the time, he was already engaged to Sunita but kept his relationship with Neelam hidden. He ultimately broke off his engagement with Sunita to pursue a relationship with Neelam.
