She covered Indian cinema extensively during the 1990s and 2000s. Rumors linking her to Aamir Khan emerged after the filming of *Ghulam* (1998), with speculation that they had grown close. These rumors also suggested that Hines was raising a son in London, whom Aamir allegedly fathered. These claims have never been confirmed or denied by either party.
