The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to take place at the Peacock Theatre in California. The global television community eagerly awaits the event, and viewers in India can watch live on September 15th.
The event will feature Nate Bargatze as host, with Sydney Sweeney and Jenna Ortega also playing prominent roles. Other notable figures such as Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Mariska Hargitay, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Williams, Kristen Bell, and Jason Bateman will also be in attendance.
Indian viewers can watch the ceremony on JioHostar starting at 5:30 am (IST) on September 15. In the United States, the broadcast will air on CBS and Paramount at 8 pm (ET). The red carpet coverage, including star arrivals, begins at 6:30 pm (ET), with Pedro Pascal, Jean Smart, Kristen Bell, and Selena Gomez among the expected attendees.
Nominations were announced on July 15, with Harvey GuillĂ©n, Brenda Song, and Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego revealing the contenders in a live event. Shows like ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘The Penguin,’ and ‘Severance’ are among the nominees.
The 2025 Emmy Awards could bring several historic moments. If Pedro Pascal wins for ‘The Last of Us,’ he’ll be the first Latino actor to win ‘Outstanding Lead Actor’ in a Drama Series.
Selena Gomez is also poised to make history. If she wins as a producer for ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ she would become the first Latina woman to achieve this feat. She already holds the record for the most nominations for a Latina producer.
Kathy Bates, 77, has broken a record with her nomination for ‘Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ for ‘Matlock.’ Angela Lansbury previously held the record, receiving the nomination at 70 in 1996.
Should Colman Domingo win ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for ‘The Four Seasons,’ it would be a major moment for the Afro-Latino community, potentially making him only the second Black actor to win in this category, after Robert Guillaume.
