Many actors in the film industry have experienced a decline in popularity over time, and Deepak Tijori is one such example. He was once a competitor to prominent actors, but today, he is less visible. Tijori, known for his roles in films such as ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar,’ ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,’ and ‘Ghulam,’ was a significant name in Bollywood but is now less prominent, though he remains active in films.
There was a time when Tijori was considered for a role alongside Salman Khan, ultimately losing out. However, he later secured a role that Akshay Kumar was rejected for. Today, on his 64th birthday, the circumstances of these roles are being revisited.
Tijori debuted in Bollywood in 1988 with ‘Tera Naam Mera.’ In 1989, Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ was released, with Salman Khan in the lead role. Tijori also auditioned for this film.
In an interview, Tijori mentioned that the filmmakers auditioned many actors. The final contenders were Salman and Tijori. Tijori was initially told he had the role, but Salman Khan was eventually cast. Barjatya explained that after comparing auditions, especially with the reactions of women, Salman was favored due to his looks. Tijori agreed with Barjatya’s decision, acknowledging Salman’s suitability for the role.
In 1992, Mansoor Khan’s ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ featured Aamir Khan in the lead and Tijori in a supporting role. Tijori’s performance was well-received, but the role was initially offered to Milind Soman. Soman began filming but left the project, leading to Tijori’s casting and subsequent success. Akshay Kumar also auditioned for the role but was rejected. Tijori’s most recent work was in the film ‘Tipppsy’ in May 2024, where he acted and directed. Tijori also participated in some music videos.
