The second season of CID is delighting its loyal viewers by bringing back familiar characters, sparking excitement among its fanbase. The crime series has successfully navigated prior issues, and the return of beloved characters has ignited social media buzz and nostalgic feelings.
Shraddha Musale is confirmed to reprise her role as the insightful Dr. Tarika, working alongside the legendary Dr. Salunkhe. Her return is highly anticipated, given her expertise in forensics and her connection with Senior Inspector Abhijeet (Aditya Srivastava). GosspisTV on X shared a photo and confirmed the news, leading to enthusiastic fan comments like, “I am so happy and excited for Dr. Tarika’s entry into the show.” Musale was a regular on the original CID series from 2007 to 2018. She is known for roles in ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’ and ‘Mile Jab Hum Tum’.
Following this news, Janvi Chheda is set to return as Inspector Shreya. Chheda, recognized for her strong personality and camaraderie with the team, particularly with Senior Inspector Daya, expressed her joy on Instagram, hinting at her comeback. “To new beginnings. Or rather, picking up where I left off… Yeah, that’s more poetic!” she wrote.
The recent episodes of CID have been full of surprises for its audience. The on-screen death of ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam), and his replacement by Parth Samthaan as ACP Ayushmaan sparked considerable controversy. However, fan reactions led to Satam’s return to his original role. The show has since bid a respectful farewell to Parth Samthaan.
The show has also been filled with unexpected twists. Narendra Gupta, who portrayed Dr. Salunkhe, recently exited the series. This departure and Dr. Salunkhe’s portrayal as a traitor have sparked mixed reactions. Given the circumstances, Dr. Tarika’s return gains added importance as she might fill the forensic lead role.
The inclusion of Dr. Tarika and Inspector Shreya enhances the returning CID cast which already includes Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Narendra Gupta and Hrishikesh Pandey.
