The eagerly awaited film ‘War 2,’ featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, is set to release soon. The film, which is part of the YRF spy universe, recently passed through the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), receiving a U/A 16+ certificate, meaning it is appropriate for viewers aged 16 and older, with parental guidance recommended for younger audiences. Before granting the certification, the CBFC required some modifications.
According to reports, the CBFC did not ask for any changes in the action sequences. However, adjustments were requested in certain other scenes and audio-visual elements. The filmmakers were directed to mute unsuitable content in six instances within both the audio and visuals. An inappropriate dialogue was replaced with a corrected one. Furthermore, a two-second gesture considered objectionable by the CBFC was removed. The board also requested a reduction in sensual scenes by half, equating to about nine seconds of footage. It is rumored that the scenes that were removed were from Kiara Advani’s parts in the song ‘Aavan Jaavan’.
‘War 2’ is scheduled to release on August 14, 2025, and is directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film, with a budget of 200 crore rupees, is anticipated to be a major release. Hrithik Roshan was also the lead in the original ‘War’ released in 2019. ‘War 2’ will mark the Hindi film debut of Jr. NTR, who will be playing a negative role.
