The Bollywood fraternity is voicing concerns over paparazzi behavior, with filmmaker Karan Johar urging for sensitivity as veteran actor Dharmendra recovers at home. Following his discharge from the hospital on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Johar took to Instagram to strongly criticize the intrusive media presence, advocating for the Deol family’s right to privacy.
“When basic courtesy and sensitivity leave our hearts and our actions, we know we are a doomed race,” Johar stated in his Instagram story. He further implored the media to cease their relentless pursuit, noting, “PLEASE leave a family alone!!!! They are already emotionally combatting so much… This is not coverage, it’s DISRESPECT!”
This public statement follows an incident where Sunny Deol, Dharmendra’s son, was seen admonishing paparazzi gathered at their home. A video captured Deol expressing his dismay, asking the media, “Don’t you have parents at home? Don’t you have any shame?”
Dharmendra, aged 89, was hospitalized for medical observation and spent time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The family confirmed his discharge and return home, emphasizing their need for a peaceful recovery period. They released a statement appreciating the public’s well wishes while reinforcing their request for privacy and urging an end to speculation.
