The controversy surrounding Sameer Wankhede’s defamation suit against Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment over the series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ has drawn a reaction from actor Rajat Bedi, who is part of the show. The former NCB Zonal Director has taken legal action, asserting that the series, which marks Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, is defamatory towards law enforcement and himself personally.
Bedi, in a conversation with ANI, conveyed empathy for Aryan Khan, describing him as “our kid.” He acknowledged Wankhede’s role as a government representative, stating, “The government is doing its job.” However, Bedi alluded to the difficult experience Aryan Khan underwent, saying, “Whatever happened, he’s gone through a tough phase.” He refrained from extensive commentary but suggested the situation was challenging for the young Khan.
“I don’t have a lot of comments. I’m not able to say anything, but I think somewhere, he has gone through a little bit of hard things… and I think it shouldn’t have happened that way,” Bedi remarked. Wankhede’s lawsuit, filed in the Delhi High Court, alleges that the series disseminates false and malicious content intended to damage his reputation and erode public confidence in agencies like the NCB, particularly given the pending legal matters involving him and Aryan Khan.
