Anurag Basu Dismisses ‘Saiyaara’ Comparisons, Updates on Kartik Aaryan Film

Amidst the success of Mohit Suri’s ‘Saiyaara’, director Anurag Basu has refuted claims that his film with Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela is a rehash of the former. ‘Saiyaara’ has been a major box office hit, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Basu stated that the only similarity between the two films is the male lead’s profession, while the narratives diverge significantly. He specifically noted the absence of a plot element present in ‘Saiyaara’, emphasizing that his film is a distinct story. Basu also provided an update on the project’s progress, stating that filming is on schedule with about 40% completed. He mentioned a delay due to Kartik Aaryan’s appearance in another film, which will be addressed in the upcoming shooting schedule planned for August–September.
