Bigg Boss 19 has provided a stage for Amaal Malik to share deeply personal revelations. The singer and composer disclosed distressing details about his family, including his relationship with his uncle, Anu Malik, and his father’s struggles.
In a recent episode, Amaal discussed the strained dynamics within his family. He recounted the hardships his father, Daboo Malik, faced in the music industry, attributing them to his uncle’s actions. Amaal alleged that Anu Malik not only impeded his father’s career but also treated him unfairly.
Speaking with a fellow contestant, Amaal described how the internal family conflicts had left an indelible mark on his life. He claimed to have experienced trauma even before his birth, a statement that shocked the audience.
Amaal recounted that his father, Daboo Malik, never received the recognition he deserved. He then narrated an incident where his father was called to record a song. After finally getting an opportunity, he was overjoyed, but soon discovered that the song had already been released three years prior, sung by another artist, Udit Narayan.
Amaal alleged that his father was subjected to a ‘mock recording’ to give the impression of work. The deception deeply affected his father, leading him to take ‘confidence pills’. He characterized his uncle, Anu Malik, as a ‘bad person,’ attributing his change in behavior to his wife.
Furthermore, Amaal shared his mother’s challenging experiences, particularly during her pregnancy. He revealed that his mother was burdened with extensive chores even while expecting him. “My mother faced a lot of hardship while she was pregnant with me. She lived in a joint family and had to do a lot of work,” he said. This led to an outburst where she hit her hand on a cupboard.
Amaal credited his mother’s perseverance for the success he and his brother, Armaan Malik, have achieved.
Amaal also shared a harrowing childhood memory. At the age of seven, he was stranded in the rain-flooded streets of Mumbai. He saw his uncle’s car but was ignored as the occupants locked the doors and drove away. Amaal admitted this event still evokes anger and is the source of his aggressive nature. According to Amaal, his outbursts are not a facade, but the result of his childhood pain.
