The film ‘Kesari Chapter 2,’ featuring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan, enjoyed a favorable response in cinemas. The narrative, drawn from the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire,’ spotlights C Sankaran Nair’s courageous stand against the Crown in court, holding them responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film also marks the directorial debut of Karan Singh Tyagi. After its theatrical run, the movie is set for an OTT release.
‘Kesari Chapter 2’ will be available on JioHotstar starting June 13. The platform announced the release with the message: “The story you know, the truth you don’t! Witness the aftermath of Jallianwala Bagh, in #KesariChapter2 streaming June 13 on JioHotstar.”
The movie also garnered support from various celebrities and politicians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged C Sankaran Nair’s contributions. Akshay Kumar, in an Instagram post, shared the Prime Minister’s video and wrote, “Thank you Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for remembering the great Chettur Sankaran Nair ji and his contribution to our freedom struggle. It is so important that we as a nation, especially the younger generation values the great women and men who fought valiantly to ensure that we breathe in a free country! Our Kesari Chapter 2, is a humble effort to remind everyone that we must never take our freedom for granted!”
The cast includes Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day, Alexx O’Nell, Amit Sial, Mark Bennington and Krish Rao. Akshay Kumar also shared behind-the-scenes photos before the release of Kesari Chapter 2, writing, “You must have heard many stories but this is a storm. C.
