Acclaimed South Indian actress Meera Vasudevan has officially announced her divorce from her third husband, Vipin Puthiyankam, a cinematographer. The couple’s union, which began in May last year, has concluded less than a year later, a development that has garnered considerable attention. Vasudevan is widely recognized for her debut in the critically acclaimed Malayalam film ‘Thanmathra’, where she starred opposite Mohanlal.
On November 16th, Meera Vasudevan shared the news of her separation with her Instagram followers, stating, “I, Actress Meera Vasudevan, aka @officialmeeravasudevan, officially declare that I am now single since Aug 2025. I am at a most wonderful and peaceful phase of my life… #focused #blessed #gratitude.”
The marriage to Vipin, which took place in Coimbatore, followed their meeting on the sets of the popular TV serial ‘Kudumbavilakku’. Vipin, a Palakkad native, has contributed his skills as a cinematographer to numerous television shows and documentaries, including ‘Kudumbavilakku’. The professional relationship between Vasudevan and Puthiyankam evolved into a personal one, leading to their marriage.
It has been observed that Vasudevan has since removed all traces of her marriage to Vipin from her social media profiles, including their wedding photos. This is Vasudevan’s third marital separation.
Her previous marriage was to actor John Kokken, with whom she shares a son. They were married from 2012 to 2016. Before that, her first marriage was to Vishal Agarwal, lasting from 2005 to 2010.
Despite navigating personal challenges, Vasudevan recently celebrated a significant career milestone, marking 25 years in the entertainment industry. She acknowledged this achievement on Instagram, expressing profound gratitude for her extensive career as an actress and artist.
While Vasudevan has showcased her talent across various film industries, her role in ‘Thanmathra’ remains particularly memorable for Malayali audiences. Her career also includes a successful stint in television serials and a significant social media presence with over 115,000 followers.
