Actor Aamir Khan is extending a helping hand to filmmakers facing challenges in releasing their movies. After the theatrical run of ‘Sitare Zameen Par,’ Khan released the film on his YouTube channel, Aamir Khan Talkies, for a fee of ₹100. This decision came after he turned down a ₹125 crore offer from an OTT platform for the same film. Khan plans to utilize his YouTube channel as a platform for his own productions, which he calls ‘Janta Ka Theatre’. Beyond his own films, Khan is offering to release movies from other filmmakers who are struggling to find distribution. During an interview with the YouTube channel Think School, Khan invited filmmakers with finished films to contact his team. The selected films will be showcased on the ‘Janta Ka Theatre’ channel, and if the audience responds positively, the filmmakers will also receive financial compensation.
