Hearing the automatic cognizance petition on the salary issue of teachers and employees of the Northern Corporation, on Thursday, Justice Hima Kohli expressed displeasure over the affidavit filed by the corporation. The corporation said that it issues salary distribution of its employees keeping in mind the availability of funds. First, the class IV workers are then paid salaries to other officers, but the court was not satisfied with the corporation’s argument.
The court has asked the corporation for detailed information about the salary of the teachers and pensioners and fixed the next hearing on 21 July. Union advocate Ranjit Sharma said in the court that the teachers have got only one salary even after the case has been running for almost a month. Devendra Mathur, president of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation of All Delhi Primary Teachers Association, said that the corporation is constantly trying to mislead the court and is trying to take the issue of salary of teachers in an uncertain direction.
Union General Secretary Ramchandra Dabas said that so far the teachers of the Northern Corporation have received only the salary for the month of March. Corporation administration has also received money for three months in April, May and June, but the teachers have not yet received their salary. This raises a clear suspicion that the corporation administration has allocated the amount of money allocated to the teachers to the contractors by taking commission or any other item.
Chairman of All Delhi Primary Teachers Association, Arvind Mishra said that for the past many years, due to non-receipt of corporation teacher salary allowance pension etc., there have been protests against the corporation administration with the help of agitation strike movements etc. 9000 teachers working in North Delhi Municipal Corporation are facing financial difficulties due to non-receipt of salaries etc. on time since the split of the corporation.
