In the disputed area Pilar No 811 on the Indo-Nepal international border adjoining Tanakpur in Champawat district, a crowd of about 150 Nepalese civilians unanimously tried to take possession.

The beleaguered Nepali citizens not only torched 14-15 paved pillars in the disputed area, but also planted saplings on the spot.

As soon as the information was received, the SSB and the Kotwali police force reached the spot and tried to convince the Nepali protesters, but they did not agree.

Nepal Armed Force reached the spot seeing the controversy escalated. Nepali protesters stayed on the spot till late evening, due to which the tension on the international border suddenly increased.

SSB Deputy Commandant Murari Lal, Kotwal Dhirendra Kumar and Nepal APF officials reached the spot on the notice of capture.

Negotiations between officials of the two countries went on till late in the evening to reduce the increasing tension on the border. SP Lokeshwar Singh says that the Nepal administration is ready to remove the occupation.

On Thursday, there will be talks between Nepal and Indian officials so that a peaceful solution to the matter can be found.
