In Kashi, Nagpanchami will be discharged online this year on the centuries-old tradition of discussion on Nagkup. This will be the first time due to corona infection. Nagkup is related to Maharishi Patanjali. It is believed that by speaking on the date of Shravan Shukla Panchami, speech is sacred and Medha Shakti is developed.
Five scholars will do Wilwarchan-
Nagpanchami, on July 25 morning, five grammarian scholars of Nagakupeshwar Mahadev will do Wilwarchan with Panini Ashtadhyayi. The ritual will take place under the leadership of Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, in charge of Srividyamath. This will be followed by a national webinar on behalf of Nagkup Shastraartha Committee. The webinar will discuss debate, reading papers and grammar. Hundreds of Sanskritsevi are present in this ritual every year. Scholars from every corner of the country read papers on Nagpanchami in Nagkup.
26 years ago, the event got the national shape
– President of Kashi Vidhyat Parishad, His Excellency Pt. Ramayatan Shukla formed the Nagkup Shastharth Committee in the year 1995 and gave the event a national shape. Eminent scholars and students of the country started coming here for discussion. Five scholars of the country serving Sanskrit are also honored every year, but this year the honor ceremony will be postponed. Ten scholars will be honored together next year.
Nagkup Shastraartha Samiti conducts Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha every month in Kashi and Shastra Charth Sabha in monasteries, Sanskrit schools and universities. Scholars and students who are victorious in scripture are honored.
