CM Baghel : Proper arrangements made for supply of essential commodities in state during lockdown

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said in his address to common people today evening that proper arrangements have been made to supply necessary commodities in the state during the 21-day lockdown for prevention of corona virus in state. In addition, Collectors have been directed to strictly put an end hoarding. Mr. Baghel said in his address to the citizens thanked them for practicing home isolation with discipline during lockdown. It is extremely important to break the chain of corona virus spread. Hence, to ensure proper supply of essential commodities during this time of lockdown, I am personally monitoring and taking report of entire state.
Chief Minister said that I have received complaints about some traders taking undue advantage of this lockdown situation and hiking prices of essential commodities. A few have indulged in black marketing, which is extremely objectionable. I request business community to avoid taking undue advantage of this situation of crisis and rather provide daily use goods to people out of servitude. We wouldn’t tolerate black marketing at any cost. All the collectors have been directed to strictly prevent black marketing and ensure availability of essential goods at right prices. Some traders are practicing social distancing commendably. Other traders should also practice social distancing to ensure their safety and safety of customers. Collectors have also been directed to ensure that no problems occur in transportation of essential goods such as vegetables, fruits etc. People going out for buying grocery or vegetables should not be stopped. Chief Minister said that this is the time of reaping crops, hence, machines should be deployed for reaping as far as possible. Labourers are requested to follow social distancing during the work.
Mr. Baghel said that Police Department is doing commendable work in this time of crisis. Chief Minister appreciated Police personnel and directed them to help in transportation of essential commodities and also cooperate with the people going out of buying goods of daily need. He added that information about watermelon crops getting spoilt in nearby rivers. Instructions have been given to make arrangements for bringing this crop to the city and helping farmers sell the same. Chief Minister thanked doctors, nurses and team members of Health department and district administration for tirelessly serving people round the clock.
Chief Minister said that District Collectors are making arrangement of food, shelter etc for the poor, destitute and labourers who are facing problems due to lockdown. I request everyone to stay where they are and to not to travel. District-level helpline numbers have been launched to help people like these.
Chief Minister said that I humbly request people of the state to strictly follow the lockdown instructions. Kindly don’t step out of house until it is extremely important. Practice social distancing strictly and wash your hands frequently. And remember that even if there is only one patient of corona in the state, there is still risk of pandemic spreading. Hence, it is important that every person who has come in contact with infected person or the person who has returned from foreign tour should report to health department and be provided proper treatment. I strongly believe that with everyone’s support, we would successfully overcome this pandemic situation.
