Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday announced tehsil status to ancient and Hindu pilgrimage town Ratanpur. He also declared sub-tehsil status to Dadhi of Bemetara district.
The announcement was made by him while meeting a delegation from Ratanpur who demanded Tehsil status for the town. “It is situated at a greater distance of more than 25 kilometers from present District and Tehsil headquarters Bilaspur and it would be convenient for the people residing there if they get tehsil status for the town”, the delegation said.
The delegation from Ratanpur comprised Chairperson Municipal Council, Asha Suryawanshi, Shiva Pandey, Dr Raju Shrivas, Abhishek Mishra, Pushpakant and Prabodh Anand Pandey.
The Municipal Council Chairperson apprised the CM that around 49 villages under the Municipal Council have given their consent for getting the tehsil status.
