Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade today launched the state level women’s Madai at the Science College ground in Raipur. This Madai is being organized on the theme of ‘strong woman prosperous woman’. This Madai will run till 08 March. In this Madai, the exhibition and sale of materials produced by women self-help groups across the state is being exhibited and sold.
The Minister of Women and Child Development visited the stalls set up by women groups for sale cum exhibition by women groups in Mahila Madai. The women of the Women’s Self Help Group were excited to find the minister Mrs. Rajwade among them. Mrs. Rajwade shopped fiercely in various stalls here and tasted the ragi, Sattu and millet laddus taste and appreciated it. On this occasion, Minister Mrs. Rajwade honored Padmashree Jageshwar Yadav.
MLA Sunil Soni, Member State Women’s Commission Mrs. Laxmi Verma, Ms. Shalini Rajput Shahid, Secretary Mrs. Sami Abidi, Director Mr. Janmejaya Mahobe and departmental officers and employees were present on the occasion.
The 87 stalls sold in women’s Madai can be observed from 12 noon to 10 pm. Selfie zone is built in Madai which is the center of attraction. Along with this, a play zone for children has also been made, in which arrangements have been made for attractive swings and sports and plays for the entertainment of children.
Mahila Madai was the center of attraction among the people in Mahila Madai in Nawa Bihan, Mahtari Vandan Sakhi Center, Woman Helpline, Disha Darshan, Virgo Marriage, Sponsorship, Faster Care, Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, Child Helpline, Child Marriage, Adoption and Adarsh Anganwadi Center. A cultural evening was also organized at this Madai fair in which Ms. Garima Diwakar of Chhattisgarhi Lok Kala Manch gave a beautiful performance.
In the Madai Fair, free stalls are being provided for the sale and demonstration of materials produced by women self-help groups of women and child development departments such as NRLM, Forest Department, Panchayat Department etc. Apart from this, stalls have also been provided to the registered women entrepreneurs, producers, start-ups with the aim of providing opportunities to move forward to local women entrepreneurs and women.
