Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw today launched the Shivrinarayan Festival in Shivrinarayan, the city of Mata Shabari. It has been organized from 23 February to 26 February at Mahant Lal Das College ground in Shivrinarayan in Janjgir-Champa district. This festival, which lasts for four days, will have various cultural events daily. MP Smt. Kamlesh Jangde and MLA Mrs. Sesharaj Harbansh also attended the launch program. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw also inaugurated the Atal campus by unveiling the statue of Bharatratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Bajpai at the newly constructed Atal campus at the waiting bus stand at Shivrinarayan Nagar Panchayat.
Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Saw, while inaugurating the Shivrinarayan Festival as the chief guest, said that the famous fair of Shivrinarayan, situated at Triveni Sangam, is a symbol of our culture and civilization. The fame of Shivrinarayan has been going on since ancient times. The fame of the fair here is also in other states including Chhattisgarh. Our Shivrinarayan is the center of faith and reverence, it is a holy abode.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw said that the culture and civilization of Chhattisgarh has been very glorious. The land of Chhattisgarh is religious, spiritual and mythological rich. Shivrinarayan has an important place in this. Shivrinarayan is the famous pilgrimage center of Chhattisgarh. The Magh Purnima fair held here is known for its characteristics. A large number of public representatives and dignitaries were present in the inauguration program of many public representatives and distinguished citizens Shivrinarayan Festival including former Vice President of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Mr. Narayan Chandel, former MLA Sarvashri Ambesh Jangde and Chunnilal Sahu, Collector Shri Akash Chhikara and Superintendent of Police Shri Vivek Shukla.
