Raipur. Under the membership campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a target has been set to add 90,000 new members in Bastar. From booth level leaders to big leaders are also actively participating in this campaign. Meanwhile, state president Kiran Singh Dev has given clarification regarding tribal leader Nandkumar Sai who left BJP and joined Congress and now again took online membership of BJP.

BJP Chhattisgarh state president Kiran Singh Dev said that Nandkumar Sai has taken online membership without any consultation with the BJP. He clarified that Sai has always been respected in the party and the party has never made any comment against him. Dev said that the final decision on Sai’s membership will be taken after consultation with the party and the membership will be confirmed only after this process is completed.

Tribal leader Sai had taken membership on the first day of the campaign

It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday, September 3, he started the BJP membership campaign by taking membership himself at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium located at Science College, Raipur. On the same day, tribal leader Nandkumar Sai took online membership of BJP, information of which he shared through his social media account.

Sai was the biggest tribal face of BJP in the state, but angry at not getting attention in the party, he decided to join the Congress on 30 April 2023. The previous Congress government had given him the status of a cabinet minister by making him the chairman of the Industrial Development Corporation. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel kept taking him along with him to political and government programs. After the victory of BJP in the assembly elections, the equations got spoiled. After the announcement of Vishnudev Sai being made the Chief Minister, Nandkumar Sai was also among the first leaders to reach his house. Since then, speculations had intensified that Sai may return home.
