He told that a young man from Pendra, Yogesh Devangan, had set up a stall to sell SIM cards near a bank a few months ago, where he was selling SIM cards with tempting offers like unlimited data for a month etc. When the young man went to Yogesh Devangan’s stall, Yogesh made him punch his thumb impression and take a photo twice, in which he said that the activation could not be done the first time, then he gave a SIM to the young man and sent him away saying that it would be activated after two days, which later did not get activated. On the basis of the statement, Yogesh Devangan was taken into custody and when questioned, he told that he used to port SIM cards for Satta Khaiwals on the pretext of activating SIM cards in the names of innocent customers who came to the stall. In this way, he gets SIM allotted by confusing the IDs of the customers, with the help of which he has activated thousands of SIMs. Anyway, a total of 6 accused have been arrested, from whom the police is probing several mobile phones, several SIM cards of bookies and their related bank details. Yogesh Devangan has been sent on police remand and all the other five accused have been sent on judicial remand after taking action under sections of IT Act including cheating, criminal conspiracy.

Police has taken action by detaining Ajay Yadav, son of Ramji Yadav, age 27 years, Patganwa, Police Station Pendra; Jitendra Kumar Sonwani, son of Sudama Prasad, age 23 years, Barka Mohalla, village Barwasan, Police Station Gaurela. Rajkumar Kashyap, son of Ganga Ram Kashyap, age 40 years, village Kudkai, Police Station Pendra. Rahul Kori, son of Suresh Kori, age 24 years, Diet Colony Pendra. Anurag Soni, son of Santosh Soni, age 19 years, village Bandhi, Police Station Pendra; Yogesh Devangan, son of late Santosh Kumar Devangan, Sakra Schoolpara Post/Police Station Malkharoda, District Sakti.
