Four new portals launched for women’s welfare, 13th installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana released

Raipur, March 8, 2025 // Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the “Grand Mahtari Vandan Sammelan” held at Science College Ground in the capital Raipur and extended his best wishes to all the women of the state on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He said that women empowerment is not just an idea, but the top priority of our government. The state government is working with full commitment to ensure that women in Chhattisgarh become socially, economically and politically self-reliant.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that no society and nation can progress without the sacrifice and dedication of women. He said that the tradition of worshiping motherhood in India is centuries old and the Chhattisgarh government is further strengthening this tradition.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that no society can be complete until the women of the society are empowered. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is constantly striving to make women self-reliant, safe and respected and many new steps will be taken in the direction of women empowerment in the coming times as well. This journey of women empowerment will continue continuously, because women power is the power of the nation.
Significant steps towards economic empowerment of women
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government has been transferring an amount of Rs 1,000 per month directly to the bank accounts of women for the last 13 months under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana for women’s welfare. So far, an amount of more than Rs 8,488 crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 70 lakh women.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that a new initiative has also been taken for Anganwadi workers and helpers. The Chief Minister announced that from now on their honorarium will be transferred directly to their bank accounts, which will ensure transparency and timeliness in payments.
Launching of four new portals and digital initiatives
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai launched an important digital facility for oppressed and distressed women, under which they will be able to register complaints through online and mobile apps. In addition, Chief Minister Shri Sai also launched the portal of Child Marriage Free Chhattisgarh Campaign, Infra Portal and Establishment Portal.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to empowering women more through technology.
New opportunities for women self-help groups
Regarding the stalls set up in Mahila Madai, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that so far purchases and sales of more than Rs 15 to 20 lakh have been made, which reflects women entrepreneurship. He announced that a “Unity Mall” will be built in Naya Raipur at a cost of Rs 200 crore, where sufficient opportunities will be available to sell the products of women self-help groups.
SOP of Sakhi One Stop Center – Chhattisgarh becomes the first state
Chief Minister Shri Sai released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of Sakhi One Stop Center and said that Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country to do so.
He said that Sakhi One Stop Center provides immediate assistance, counseling and legal aid to women in distress. Now a standard procedure has been created for the systematic operation of this center, which will further increase its effectiveness.
Special provisions in the budget for women empowerment
In the program, Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade said that the Chhattisgarh government considers women empowerment not just a slogan, but an integral part of its policy and resolution. She said that many schemes related to women and social welfare have been strengthened in this year’s state budget. From making women self-reliant to their health, safety and education, the government is working with full strength in every field.
