Raipur, February 7, 2025 / To control environmental pollution, Pollution Under Control (PUC) centers for vehicle pollution checks will now be established at petrol pumps in Chhattisgarh. Petroleum companies have given their consent for this. The establishment of pollution check centers at petrol pumps will make it easier for vehicle drivers to obtain PUC certificates and they will not have to wander in search of other centers. Furthermore, this initiative will help in controlling air pollution from vehicles and will be a significant step towards environmental protection in the state.
It is noteworthy that on February 4, 2025, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, in a review meeting of the Transport Department, had instructed to take effective steps to prevent air pollution caused by vehicle smoke.
