Korba witnessed a significant boost in infrastructure as Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a new convention center, unveiled a statue, and launched development projects totaling ₹223 crore. The convention center, now named after Mata Ahilyabai Holkar, also saw the unveiling of her statue at the entrance. In his address, the Chief Minister discussed the various development initiatives, including ₹145 crore for road improvements, which will benefit the residents of Korba. He also announced that the convention center would be air-conditioned, making it suitable for large-scale events. The Chief Minister praised the Housing Board’s construction of the center and recalled previous development allocations. Highlighting the unveiling of Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar’s statue, he acknowledged her contributions to justice, the development of religious sites, and addressed the request for an aluminum park in Korba.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao described the day as historic, commemorating the renaming of the convention center and highlighting Mata Ahilyabai Holkar’s life and accomplishments, including her work in women’s education and empowerment. Industry Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan praised the Chief Minister’s development efforts and his commitment to the welfare of the poor, while also requesting support for an aluminum park in Korba. Collector Basant also spoke about Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s contributions. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including local MLAs and officials. Chief Minister Sai also extended his condolences to the families affected by the plane crash from Gujarat to London.
