Red, Orange, and Yellow alerts have been issued for various districts, indicating a high likelihood of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and lightning strikes. The IMD has cautioned residents about the impending adverse weather conditions.
Red Alert Areas:
The districts of Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, and Gariaband are under a Red Alert, with predictions of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds that could reach speeds of 60-80 kmph.
Orange Alert Areas:
Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, and Gariaband are included in the Orange Alert. These areas are expected to face thunderstorms, lightning, and sudden strong winds, with speeds ranging from 40-60 kmph.
Yellow Alert Areas:
Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Bastar, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, and Durg are under a Yellow Alert. These districts can anticipate thunderstorms, lightning, and sudden strong winds, with speeds between 30-40 kmph.
