Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that the state government has taken effective steps towards empowering the dairy industry on the lines of white revolution in Chhattisgarh and doubling the income of farmers and cattle rearers. He said that a pilot project has been prepared in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to make milk production a profitable business and to make the state self -sufficient in milk production, under which work will be done on a large scale.
While reviewing the works of the Animal Husbandry Department in a meeting held at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhavan, Chief Minister Sai said that after the agreement between the state government and the NDDB in December 2024, efforts are being made to increase milk production in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that most of the population of Chhattisgarh is associated with agriculture and also performs animal husbandry for additional income. He said that the state government is investing about Rs 5 crore for effective implementation of the pilot project prepared under the expertise of the National Dairy Development Board. 6 districts of Chhattisgarh have been included under this scheme and after successful implementation, it will be expanded throughout the state.
Rural economy will get strength, nutrition campaign will benefit
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the development of dairy industry will give new pace to the rural economy and create new employment opportunities for the youth. Along with this, the nutritional level of the people of the state will also improve, which will bring positive changes in the health of children and women. He instructed the officials to increase milk production as well as increase the availability of milk per capita milk and surplus milk A concrete action plan should be prepared for use. He also said that a special campaign should be launched to make the farmers and cattlemen associated with milk production aware so that they can increase their income by adopting modern techniques.
In the meeting, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman Mr. Minish Shah informed that currently 58 lakh kg of milk is being produced in the state. He said that after doing a thorough study of the functioning of Chhattisgarh State Milk Union, a comprehensive action plan has been prepared to increase milk production and marketing. He informed that through cooperative societies in the state, cattle rearers will be provided with modern technology and milk quality check and immediate payment facility. The setting up of biogas and bio-furtillizer plant will increase the sources of additional income of cattle rearers, which will also maintain environmental balance.
Resolve to make Chhattisgarh self -sufficient in dairy production
Chief Minister Shri Sai told the officials that with the successful implementation of the pilot project, important steps can be taken towards making Chhattisgarh self -sufficient in the field of milk production. He discussed in detail about dairy development, animal productivity enhancement, animal breeding and long -term plan to promote animal nutrition.

We have to ensure that milk production is taken to new heights through modern technology and scientific approach. He said that the state government is determined to increase milk production in the state and strengthen the rural economy.
