Praised the work of the water conservation group for saving water

Balodabazar, May 9, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reached Baldakchhar, a village dominated by the particularly backward tribal community Kamar, in Vikas Khand Kasdol today as part of the state-wide Good Governance Festival. He inspected the soak pit being constructed by the water conservation group for water harvesting under the ‘Mor Gaon, Mor Pani’ (My Village, My Water) campaign. He himself laid bricks in the under-construction soak pit with a trowel. Praising the work of the water conservation group for saving water, the Chief Minister said that such efforts are necessary to avoid water crisis.

Lalita Dhruv, a member of the water conservation group, said that under the ‘Mor Gaon, Mor Pani’ campaign, so far 10 soak pits have been constructed near borewells in Baldakchhar. Under this campaign, cleaning of ponds, awareness rallies, wall writing, and awareness among people for water harvesting systems are being carried out.

Notably, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai launched the ‘Mor Gaon Mor Pani’ campaign on April 24, 2025, on the occasion of Panchayat Raj Day. Under this campaign, so far 2500 soak pits have been constructed near borewells in all 519 gram panchayats of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. Along with this, about 1291 ponds have been cleaned. At the village level, meetings of the Village Water and Sanitation Committee are being organized for water conservation, in which proposals for necessary construction for rainwater harvesting and physical verification of the structures constructed for water conservation are being done by the villagers. 2 water conservation groups have been formed in each panchayat which are encouraging the villagers for water conservation.
