Manoj Yadav, Korba. Two vehicles were set on fire in Purani Basti under Kotwali police station. It is not known who started the fire and why. As soon as the information was received, the police came into action and started investigation. The police is busy finding out the reasons. Local people informed the fire brigade about this. However, before the arrival of the fire brigade the vehicle was burnt to ashes.

This incident happened in old colony. The name of the vehicle owner is Mehrab Khan who is a businessman by profession. After returning from work as usual, he parked the Tata Xylo vehicle outside the house next to the pickup vehicle and went inside the house. At around 3 o'clock in the night, suddenly there was a sound of explosion. After which he came out of the house and saw that both the vehicles were burning outside his house. The vehicle owner immediately called out to the people nearby. After which the people of the colony gathered.

This information was given to Kotwali police station and fire brigade. But before the fire brigade arrived, the vehicle was burnt to ashes. Kotwali police station reached the spot and started investigating the matter. If the landlord is to be believed, this could be the handiwork of anti-social elements living in the colony itself. Even before this, incidents of arson have occurred in this area.

Kotwali police station in-charge Nitin Upadhyay said that the police has registered a case on the complaint of landlord Mehrab Khan. The investigation has been started and the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized. The police claimed that very soon the accused would be in police custody.
