Raipur, March 05, 2025/ The Gurudarshan Fair, held in Giroudpuri, the birthplace and workplace of Baba Guru Ghasidas, is renowned throughout the country for its grandeur and faith. Thousands of devotees from across India, including Chhattisgarh, are arriving to receive blessings at this fair, which runs from March 4th to 6th. Under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, extensive arrangements have been made this year for the convenience and safety of the devotees.
Chief Minister Shri Sai has announced a sum of Rs 50 lakh for organizing the fair in a grand manner this time, which was previously Rs 25 lakh. Along with this, the construction of a permanent shed from the main entrance to the main temple has also been announced.
Chief Minister Shri Sai himself visited Guru Gaddi and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state. He also doubled the fair budget to enhance the grandeur of the fair and provide more convenience to the devotees. He directed the district administration to provide better facilities for the devotees. Following the announcement by Chief Minister Shri Sai, the district administration took prompt action and instructed the officials of the Public Works Department to conduct site inspection and measurement for the construction of a permanent shed from the main entrance to the main temple.
On the directions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, better arrangements have been made this year for the convenience and safety of the devotees at the fair. The Gurudarshan Fair is a center of faith and devotion not only for the devotees of Chhattisgarh but also for those across the country. This year, it has been made even grander and more organized through the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. The increase in these facilities by the administration will provide devotees with a more convenient, safe, and spiritual experience. This historic expansion of the Gurudarshan Fair will prove to take the service and faith of the devotees to new heights.
The health services available to devotees at the Gurudarshan Fair have been strengthened. The number of medical aid centers has been increased from 2 to 8 and the number of ambulances has been increased from 4 to 8. The free food service has also been expanded, with food now being provided by 212 groups at 24 locations, compared to 175 groups at 20 locations previously. The drinking water system has also been strengthened, with the number of permanent tap connections increased from 110 to 195 and the number of water tankers increased from 8 to 18. Security arrangements at the fair have been further strengthened, with the number of police control rooms increased from 3 to 9, the number of security forces increased from 450 to 1150, and 36 CCTV cameras installed for the first time, which are being regularly monitored. 130 wireless sets have also been provided to the security personnel. Considering fire safety, now 3 fire fighting vehicles have been deployed instead of 1 so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency. The electricity and lighting system in the fair has been made more effective, with the number of transformers increased from 10 to 13 and the number of backup generators increased from 6 to 10 in case of power failure. Considering the convenience of the devotees, the number of toilets has been increased from 4 to 16, the number of bathing rooms has been increased from 6 to 10, and an additional 80-seater permanent toilet has also been arranged. The number of sanitation workers has been increased from 80 to 291 to make the sanitation system more effective so that cleanliness is maintained in the fair.
This year, the website named Giroudpuri Mela Dot Com has been launched for the first time, through which devotees can get online information about the fair site, essential guidance, and other essential services. Through this, devotees can get complete information online about travel-related information, parking arrangements, information about religious places, and other facilities.
