Kolkata: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly said on Wednesday that the Asia Cup, due to the Coronavirus epidemic, has been canceled this year. Ganguly said during a conversation on Instagram, ‘Asia Cup has been canceled. It will be difficult to say which will be India’s first international series. We had completed our preparations, but we could not do much, given the rules of the government. We are not in a hurry because health of players is a priority. We are reviewing things monthly.

Earlier, IANS had reported that the BCCI has made it clear that the window that suits the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not suitable for the Indian board. PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said that the Asia Cup would be held in September or October. The Asia Cup was scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates in September this year, but the PCB agreed to host it to Sri Lanka.
