Hero Vida is preparing to expand its electric scooter range with the upcoming VX2 model. Testing in India is complete, and the launch is set for July 1st. The new VX2 will introduce distinct styling and features while maintaining the same foundational platform as the V2 series.
A key selling point of the VX2 is expected to be its affordability compared to the V2 models. Dealership sightings have shown the VX2 with a more conventional and subtle design aesthetic. Despite the design differences, the VX2 will share essential internal components with the V2, including the battery, motor, chassis, and electronics, which streamlines production and reduces costs.
The current Vida lineup includes the V2 Lite, which starts at Rs 74,000, and the V2 Pro, priced at Rs 1.20 lakh. Pricing for the VX2 has yet to be announced. The launch is planned for July 1.
Prior to launch, the affordable Vida VX2 was observed without camouflage, revealing multiple potential variants. Images released by Car And Bike.com suggested potential trim levels like Lite, Plus, and Pro. The VX2 is anticipated to start at Rs 74,000 ex-showroom for the base model, with the mid-spec version priced at Rs 85,000 and the top-spec at Rs 1,15,300. It is expected to be equipped with front disc brakes and telescopic front and rear shock absorbers.
The revealed scooter featured a digital dashboard with a joystick control and an SOS button to ensure rider safety.
Similar to the V2, the Vida VX2 will come with a removable battery. The model lineup will mirror that of the V2 with Lite, Plus, and Pro trims. The base model is expected to have a 2.2 KWH pack, while the top spec will launch with a 3.4 KWH battery. According to a report by Car and Bike .com, the Vida VX2 will be powered by a permanent magnet motor, likely with a lower output than the V2’s 6Kw peak.
