The eagerly awaited Renault Duster is set to enter the Indian market in early 2026, with production underway at the Chennai plant. The initial offering will consist of petrol engine options, with turbo-petrol versions also planned. Hybrid models are expected to follow shortly after the launch. Globally, the Duster showcases a 140Hp hybrid system combining a 1.6-liter petrol engine with two electric motors. The Duster will utilize the CMF-B platform, enabling support for internal combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains. The Indian version will likely mirror the Dacia Duster, offering three powertrain choices: Hybrid 140, TCE 130, and Bi-Fuel 100. The launch strategy will likely prioritize a petrol variant, followed by hybrid and CNG options. The TCE 130 powertrain includes a 4×4 setup and a mild hybrid system, leveraging a 48V battery and a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine. There’s also the possibility of an LPG/CNG option for customers seeking an economical SUV. The Hybrid 140 powertrain will combine a new petrol engine with a hybrid system, paired with an automatic gearbox.
