The TVS Orbiter, a new electric scooter, has been released, designed to slot below the existing iQube model. The launch event highlighted the Orbiter’s unique features and the distance it can travel on a single charge. The scooter is equipped with an IP67-certified traction motor and battery pack. TVS has given the Orbiter an unusual design, including a flat floor and a long seat to improve comfort. The Orbiter comes in six colors: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. The scooter has a headlamp cluster mounted high, with the DRL neatly integrated into the front. The EV has an 845 mm flat seat, designed for a comfortable riding posture. It has a ground clearance of 169 mm and 14-inch wheels. Storage includes 34 liters under the seat and an additional 290 mm on the footboard. The Orbiter is the first in its segment to offer cruise control and includes safety features. It also has a USB charging port and hill assist. The Orbiter is designed to offer a range of approximately 158 km on a full charge. It is equipped with a connected cluster that uses Bluetooth. This enables real-time location tracking, anti-theft alerts, information on nearby charging stations, and vehicle health data. A safety system cuts the motor if the scooter tips over. The 158 km range is provided by a 3.1 kWh battery pack. A 94 km range option is also available with a 2.2 kWh battery. The Orbiter is priced at ₹99,000 (ex-showroom, Bangalore) and available for booking online through the TVS official website. A comparison table details the specifications of the Orbiter and other electric scooters, including the Honda Activa-E, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Suzuki e-Access.
