TVS is poised to introduce a budget-friendly electric scooter in the Indian market. The company had previously trademarked an electric scooter named ‘Orbiter’. Now, the domestic two-wheeler manufacturer is set to launch the production model of this electric scooter. The TVS Orbiter electric scooter is slated for an August 28th release in India. Post-launch, this electric scooter will be positioned below the TVS iQube, which is the most successful electric scooter for this auto company. Currently, TVS sells the iQube electric scooter range at a starting price of around ₹1 lakh, reaching up to ₹1.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming TVS Orbiter will be more competitively priced. This positioning makes it the new entry-level electric scooter. The price is expected to be under ₹1 lakh. Upon its release, the TVS Orbiter will contend with electric scooters such as the Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 X.
