TVS, responding to the popularity of the Ntorq 125 and the growing demand for sporty scooters, has introduced the TVS Ntorq 150. This model upgrades with a more powerful engine and a contemporary design. The scooter is available in two variants, priced at ₹1.19 lakh and ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec TFT variant. It features four dual-tone color options.
**Design**
The Ntorq 150 boasts a modern, sharp design, targeting a younger demographic. Its aesthetic appeal is enhanced by vibrant color choices such as Turbo Blue, Stealth Silver, Racing Red, and Nitro Green. Key design elements include a quad-projector LED headlight setup, new LED DRLs, LED taillights with a ‘T’ logo, 12-inch alloy wheels, winglets for improved aerodynamics, a compact sporty exhaust, split grab rails, a street-style handlebar, a 5-inch TFT display, and updated switchgear.
**Specifications**
Practicality is addressed with a glove compartment and a retractable hook. The under-seat storage offers 22 liters and includes a USB Type-A port, though a boot light is absent. The scooter can accommodate only half-face and compact full-face helmets. A notable feature is the continued use of 12-inch wheels on both ends, with TVS citing top-speed considerations for this decision. The wheelbase is identical to the Ntorq 125, at 1,285 mm, although handling feels improved. It is equipped with a telescopic front fork, mono-shock rear suspension, disc brakes with ABS at the front, drum brakes at the rear, and a parking brake.
**Features**
The Ntorq 150 features a 5-inch TFT display, which is packed with features. TVS emphasizes the inclusion of 22 segment-first features. The display supports a 4G eSIM, providing various connectivity options. The display includes day and night modes with automatic brightness adjustment.
Key functionalities include a top-speed recorder, 0-60 km/h timer, smartwatch connectivity with Alexa, Android, and Apple integration, crash alert, live vehicle tracking, last parked location, weather updates, social media notifications, music control, call/SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. The TFT display is controlled via a four-way navigation button. Both brake levers are adjustable.
**Engine and Power**
TVS claims the scooter achieves 0-60 km/h in 6.3 seconds, with a top speed of 104 km/h. During testing, a top speed of 99-100 km/h was achieved. The engine is a 149.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled unit, delivering 13 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque. While the exhaust note is strong, some vibrations are noticeable at idle. The scooter’s light weight of 115 kg adds to its agility. Riding modes include Street, which includes engine start/stop for fuel efficiency, and Race, offering enhanced power with TVS iGO assist.
**Final View**
While personal preferences may vary regarding its design, the ride quality and handling are widely praised. Braking performance is robust and trustworthy. The front brakes deliver excellent stopping power with the ABS, preventing wheel lockup. Some desirable features, such as keyless start and self-canceling indicators, are absent. The under-seat storage could have been more generous, and the use of 14-inch wheels might have enhanced the overall experience. Nonetheless, the TVS Ntorq 150 is a feature-rich scooter, presenting an appealing option for those seeking a sporty design and advanced technology.
