The Indian electric scooter market witnessed significant growth in July, with TVS Motor leading the sales charts. The company’s performance was highlighted by a strong sales figure of 22,256 units, marking a 13.23% year-over-year increase. The TVS iQube played a pivotal role in driving this success. Bajaj Auto secured the second position, delivering 19,683 units, reflecting a 10.80% increase. The Bajaj Chetak EV continued to attract customers.
Ola Electric experienced a setback, with sales decreasing by 57.29% to 17,852 units. Ather Energy displayed strong growth, securing the fourth spot with a 59.04% increase, selling 16,251 units; their models, like the Ather 450X and 450S, proved popular. Hero MotoCorp also made gains, experiencing a substantial 107.20% increase in sales, reaching 10,501 units, fueled by the Vida series scooters.
The TVS iQube series starts with a base model featuring a 2.2kWh battery. This base variant offers a 75 km range and can charge to 80% in 2 hours. All iQube models include a 950W charger, with a top speed of 75 km/h and 115 kg weight. This base model, with a 30-liter under-seat storage, is priced at ₹94,999. There is also a variant with a 3.4kWh battery.
The iQube ST 3.4kWh variant has a 100 km range and a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display. It includes Alexa voice assist, digital document storage, Bluetooth, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The ST 3.4kWh costs ₹1,55,555. The high-end ST 5.1kWh boasts the largest battery capacity. It promises a 150 km range. The ST 5.1 reaches a top speed of 82 km/h and charges to 80% in 4 hours and 18 minutes. It includes all the features of the ST 3.4kWh. The ST 5.1kWh variant is priced at ₹1,85,373.
